Why exactly am I so excited elderflower is blooming on every street I walk down? So many reasons!

Why bother trying elderflower? Well first, it smells amazing and has a pleasant taste. Besides that, it also has many healthy and medicinal benefits.

Elderflower is uber versatile, as it can be prepared as a: hot tea, iced tea, alcohol tincture, in liquor, extracted in honey, and into an elixir, as a syrup, made into a great non-alcoholic drink (or with alcohol). If that isn’t enough, it can also be used topically when macerated in oil, to make a facial serum, or prepared as a hydrosol which is great for skin care.

That may seem like a lot, and it is, but there are even more elderflower preparations!

Foraging & Plant Identification

Elderflower can be bought, however, I am writing this in June, which is the perfect time to forage your own elderflower! When you forage for your own, not only is it free, but then you have the option of using it fresh!

Safety & Contraindications

It is generally considered safe for all and can be taken long term.
