Safety & Sustainability

Always be 100% certain of a plant’s identification before wildcrafting. Just as there are powerful medicinal plants, there are also toxic, poisonous, and deadly plants. Before I wildcraft for a new plant I verify its distinguishable characteristics from multiple reputable sources and research any look-alikes the plant may have. I would recommend others do the same. As wildcrafting becomes more popular it becomes even more important to always wildcraft sustainably. Only harvest a small amount if there is enough of something growing. This ensures plants can be shared with other people, animals, and can reproduce for years to come. There is a list of at risk plants at United Plant Savers. I encourage you to take a look to make sure you don’t wildcraft and only buy these plants that were cultivated.
